Dear Valued Partners,

After 25 years of proudly serving the college marketplace, LXG will be exiting the industry.

Information Request:

Hey Terry,

I was wondering if you could put a couple questions out to the membership? We are trying to avoid being outsourced and one of the duties I have been tasked with is to find out what % of profit stores are marking up their books, and do they charge a different % of mark up on regular textbooks vs Instant access. How much of their textbook sales are Instant Access vs regular textbooks?  Additionally, what % of profit on gear, supplies and food if they are a convenience store?

I am also interested in stores that operate as an auxiliary service what their guidelines for making a profit? Are they asked to just break even, or do they have to meet a certain % of profit to contribute back to the school?

Let me know if this is a possibility. I really appreciate your help!

Hi Terry,

I hope all is well!

We’re doing some research regarding available course material models. We know that St. Lawrence University utilizes the Day One Digital/Inclusive Access structure but we’re looking to get a firmer grasp on how Equitable Access, Subscription Based, and Pay Per Use or Access Code models operate. Are there any colleges/Universities in our network that implement any of these?

I checked the UVM and Union sites, and they’re set up as we are, with a traditional purchasing structure.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and happy new year!
